SSA Webinar on Online Benefit Verification Letters

The Social Security Administration will host a webinar on "Benefit Verification Letters Online, Easy as 1-2-3" on January 9, at 1pm ET. The webinar is designed for advocates, social service agencies, and other third parties to help promote the use of Social Security's online service options.
Additionally, the webinar will provide information on how to establish a My Social Security account; how to get a Benefit Verification Letter online; and the other services are offered at www.socialsecurity.gov. The Employment and Disability Employer 30-Second Training Series and complementary Employer Resource Guide were developed with an employer focus and were designed to educate employers, hiring managers, and supervisors about proven strategies and easy-to-use resources that can assist in retaining and accommodating existing employees who experience the onset of a disability.
These tools also provide valuable information and sources of support to employers in hiring qualified employees who experience a disability, including strategies and resources that can assist in effectively accommodating all employees in achieving their maximum potential and productivity level.

Online Technical Assistance Chat: Computer Training for SCSEP Participants

On Thursday, December 5 from 2-3pm ET, we will hold our inaugural technical assistance online chat! The topic will be providing computer training for SCSEP participants.
We’ve asked our colleagues from the Texas Workforce Commission/Experience Works, Senior Service America, and AARP Foundation to provide one-page overviews of what they currently do to provide computer training to participants. On Thursday, these colleagues will be on hand to tell you about specifics, to answer your questions about implementation, and to give suggestions based on their experiences.
